Frequently asked questions
What exactly do I get for $19?
A 23-page PDF (Edition 2, October 2026): the Pause Rule, 10 deal-breakers, the 6-step Verification Ladder, a payment-safety ranking, 11 scenario checklists, scripts and a dispute-letter template, an “I already paid” plan, a national and Illinois/Chicago lookup directory, a printable Pause Card, and a full source list.
How do I get the PDF after paying?
After a card payment, Stripe sends you straight to the download page. After a PayPal payment, we email you the PDF within one business day. If anything goes wrong, email hello@fedprobenow.us with your receipt and we’ll email the PDF to you, usually within one business day.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Email within 30 days of purchase and we’ll refund the full $19. No questions asked. See the Refund Policy.
Is this legal or financial advice?
No. It is educational information drawn from public guidance by U.S. and Illinois agencies. For advice about your situation, talk to an attorney or a licensed financial professional.
Is FedProbeNow part of the government?
No. FedProbeNow is a private brand of House Of Biz & Company in Chicago. It is not affiliated with the FTC, the FBI, or any other agency. Reporting fraud to the government is always free: ReportFraud.ftc.gov and ic3.gov.
Do you do private-detective work?
No. We are not a licensed private detective or investigation agency, and we don’t research individual people. Our verification service covers businesses and public business records only.
Can you run a background check on a person, tenant, or job applicant?
No. We don’t check individuals, and our reports may not be used for employment, tenant-screening, credit, or insurance decisions. For those, use a screening company that follows the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Can you get my money back?
No, and be careful of anyone who promises that for a fee. The FTC warns about “recovery” scams. Part 8 of the guide covers the steps you can take yourself, right away, with your bank and the agencies.
Is the guide only for Illinois?
No. The checks work anywhere in the U.S. The directory adds Illinois and Chicago lookups on top of the national ones.
What if a link in the guide stops working?
We checked every link on October 16–17, 2026. Agencies sometimes move pages; search for the agency name plus the tool name, or email us and we’ll send the current link.
Do you collect my data?
Only what’s needed to sell and deliver: the payment provider shares your name, email, and payment details with us. The site has no ads, no tracking pixels, and no analytics cookies. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I share the PDF?
Please share the link to fedprobenow.us instead of the file. You’re welcome to print the Pause Card and give copies to family, friends, or staff.
